Erica Konrad is an artist living and working in Nelson, British Columbia – a small arts town in the West Kootenay. Her background is a formal University education (BA Honors) in environmental studies, which has laid the foundation for her intense inspiration from the natural world.
She is mostly self taught, working in oil, gouache and plaster and more recently wax and tree sap (encaustic), having attended international workshops on the encaustic process. When not painting, she is teaching children earth art, teenagers painting and adults encaustic. She is also currently building an artists retreat to share with others.
She is first and foremost a mother to a young daughter and son who continually provide inspiration with their fresh ideas and imagination. She is also grateful to share her life with her loving husband and most loyal dog. She maintains an active studio practice creating artwork for public and private collections.
