Rita Loyd is a watercolour artist and writer. The message of her work is about the healing power of unconditional self-love. Rita began painting healing art in 1996 as a way to cope with chronic illness and depression. Through this journey, the creative process became her teacher, healer and friend who would guide her to find the true meaning and experience of unconditional self-love. Rita writes about this and all that she has learned about self-love in her book: Unconditional Self-Love: What It Is, Why It's important and How to Nurture It in Your Life. She has also created a greeting card line, self-love prayer flags and an unconditional self-love message card deck.
Rita's art has appeared on over 100 magazine covers and will have a full page feature in the 2016 "We moon" calendar date book. Her work can be found in websites, blogs and newsletters by Deepak Chopra, Dr. Lissa Rankin, Huffington Post, Om times, Soul Love and others. Her work has been used on stage with authors Anita Moorjani and Joyce Rupp who both stress the importance of self-love.
Rita lives in Huntsville, Alabama, with her husband Jody Loyd. She stays busy painting, writing and helping care for her Mom who has advanced Alzheimer's disease.
